Park Jongwoo has devoted more than four decades to long-term photographic projects shaped by an enduring interest in landscape, history, memory, and the passage of time. His work spans a wide range of subjects, yet is united by a sustained exploration of the relationships between people, places, and the traces that history leaves behind.

Rather than focusing on isolated events, his photographs seek to reveal broader narratives through places, environments, and the quiet evidence of change. Working across borders, abandoned landscapes, industrial sites, and communities, his projects reflect a long-standing commitment to observing how time reshapes both the physical world and human experience.

Before working independently, Park Jongwoo worked as a photojournalist for The Korea Times and later as a freelance photographer for The New York Times and Los Angeles Times. His work has been exhibited internationally and published in books including DMZ (Steidl), Imjin River, and Himalayan Odyssey.
