An immense cooling tower rises above the industrial landscape of Charleroi, its scale suggesting a force that is no longer there. Power Plant IM once belonged to the network of coal-fired industry that powered the region, turning fuel, heat, and machinery into electricity for much of the twentieth century.

When the plant closed in 2007, the machinery stopped but the architecture remained. Turbines, pipes, control systems, and the vast interior of the cooling tower were left behind, stripped of the movement and noise that had defined them.

Moisture, moss, and vegetation gradually entered spaces once governed by engineering and combustion. What had been built to produce energy became an enormous vessel of stillness, where industrial power survives only as structure, scale, and residue.
